So I wrote a piece on Rape in GTA V. With people being stabbed for copies of the game, there is no shortage of controversy surrounding Rockstar North’s latest open world explorer. The article has gotten some very, very interesting responses. Some say that acting to save the lady under attack in the game meant nothing due to the criminal nature of the game, yet others said that empathy for the woman in need of your help was a necessity for immersion in-game. It’s a very open-ended question. My personal viewpoint is that your choices in a game are as much about your character in real life as it is in the digital world.
